GAP - Great American Pinball is doing a massive mod to two Twilight Zones turning them into black and white machines like the tv show. For those that go to Pinside here is a link
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/black-and-white-tz-coming-soon
otherwise I will post a bit of info and photos here to inspire others.
"Ok Making two Black and White TZ's modeled after the black and white TV show. Cabinet will have Black and White decals, Black and White Translite, Black and White DMD, Black and White Plastics and speaker panel. One will have a color playfield and the other playfield will be Black and White. Trim will be black powder coat with silver flake. Game will have white LED's in GI No Color."

I know black and white would be retro to the tv show but I like the cab and translite the way it is.

Yeah, I love my mods and something a bit different, but this seems like so much for so little. Each to their own!
-
DIFFERENT ?
-
my decals are that faded they're nearly b/w anyway %.%
BTW I don;t like the mod, I think pinball should be a bit colourful

here is the cabinet, playfield being painted now and plastics being designed

+ 1. Even Centaur had some colour. In Centaur's case, the monochromes were part of the theme. In TZ mod, just a case of being different.

I see a little orange there. An oversight no doubt

Why ruin a good game.

I should have a solution for that soon &&
-
a little update and he said the ball buy in and start button are going to have white buttons soon.

Pointless.
-
Why ruin a perfectly good game ? Utterly stupid !@# !@)
-
I don't think it is ruining a game merely a creative customisation of a game - not as if it is going into mass production - it's a one off for a customer….
Game play is not going to be affected though it will look a little different while playing when the whole playfield is just black and white.
-
I bet he hasn't changed the circuits and wiring to monochrome.
-
Glad it is only a one off.

somethings will always appeal to some and not others. Just like a guy in the US is doing a clear pinball project like the surf champ done years ago. I think this is very cool as well but won't be to everyones liking. Here is his progress to date - a clear Super Sonic Straight.
-
Wow, that is different.
I don't mind that at all.

#*# #*# #*# glad you like it, massive job for this guy, better him than me but does look cool.

Interesting but why would you want to see the insides anyway. I like my wife but I don't know if it'd be keen on removing the skin just for interest sake :D
-
See through pinball I like what a huge effort though.

To see all the coils sparking?? :-)

I think it looks amazing. How cool would it be watching the mechanics of the machine operate while a games being played. Im sure a lot of people would be very surprise to see what actually goes into operating a pinball machine.
As for the Twilight Zone, I actually quite like it, I'm looking forward to seeing how the playfield comes up.

BW TZ looks cool from a distance, not sure about extended time on the pf. The clear table is more of a gimmick methinks. Like a clear watch, you can see the workings but can't tell time.
