when u look at a pinball machine that is turned off, it still looks amazing with the translite artwork. You can instantly tell the title etc. Its only when u take away the translite artwork, that u realise how important it really is.
I had another look at the Wizard of OZ with the very blank/black headbox and it looked awful. Maybe a really nice factory topper with something really defining the title is really required. A good example would be the factory topper for Tales from the Crypt. The topper was attractive and stuck out n looked great plus gave instant recognition to the games title etc.
Does anyone else think a really well made/designed topper for WOZ would be the answer to get past the boring black/blank headbox when its turned off alot of the time in a home collection of pinnys. ?
I think all pinball machines look sad and unloved when switched off
they need to be turned on to be happy
