I prefer to use new tempered glass. Sure I have had some breakage in transit. Insurance is questionable whether they will pay or not. I have had glass broken using UPS, & on the airline (most likely rough handling & abuse). For USA & Canada, for years I have used the post office, & have not had a broken one yet. Always use a wooden shipping box, currently I use 1" x 3" spruce strapping which is routered with a 1/4" bit. The panels are 1/8" mdf panel, which is stapled. Top panel is taped, string used, & then taped around the sides. I use a fragile sticker front & back, ship 1, 2, or 3 glass in a box. I use the plastic edge trim cut into little pieces (2 to a side for protection). Still insure the package of pinball glass. For Australia, I use CPR for shipping & only suggest 1 or 2 in their custom cardboard box.
