Perhaps this will make a nice bookend to this thread (or simply start another chapter ) but I know the buyer (and only bidder) of the ACDC Pro for 4k in the first post in this thread and he has said to me that the pin is in as new condition with not even a blown globe and no error reports. No cabinet damage and no fade since it was sited in between two other machines and onsite for only 2 months after being purchased brand new from AMD in Dec 2012..
He also confirms that the seller was very helpful in describing condition but was getting sick of tyrekickers hence the curt responses.
Finally, according to the seller the machine was a dud onsite hence the reason for offloading "deadwood" and replacing it with something that actually makes coin.
Excellent buy by the purchaser!
You don't know what the seller replaced it with do you? Was it another pin at least?
Hey crash,
Great buy to be sure - not so great for a seller, though.
Not sure what they replaced it with to be honest (pin or other).
I've dropped the seller an email asking.
Cheers.
Thanks. I have zero interest in sighting anything but just wanted to know what makes the operators money these days. I kinda assumed that it wasn't another pin which is a shame (then again I'm not the one relying on it bringing in the coin for a living) because you couldn't really get more high profile than an ACDC at the moment so I figure Gorgar (Peter) is probably right with the crane.
