It only went to 3 ball to make operators more money. In a game of pinball most of us only 1 outstanding ball, and the rest crap or so-so. I want 5 chances at getting at least one. 

Having said that Drop a Card is a game where 5 balls is 2 too many. All the targets can be sunk with 2 balls easy enough. Probably other games like that.
