Often overlooked - the chime unit. No point in making the game look and play 100% if the sounds are not right ! So here is a post on the rebuild of a chime unit.

Here's what I started with - and notice the diode on the coil. This was bought separately, and must have originated from a system one game ;

The unit was disassembled and cleaned with windex and gray scotchbrite. The coil sleeves were replaced and the diodes removed. The chime bars were polished with Gray scotchbrite, and the rubbers were replaced. Here's the finished chime unit ;

Here is the chime unit installed. The wiring had the chime unit wires intact, but there was some electrical tape that was wound around the harness. This suggests that this game did not have chimes from the factory. There were holes in the cabinet, but they were positioed for the credit assembly, not the chime assembly.

Next update - The head rebuild !
