Don't worry, I'm still learning too.

Just use a multimeter set to Ohms and check each pair of lugs (centre lug is common) with all wires and diodes still connected and power off.  If you get a zero Ohms reading (Short), you may need to disconnect the diode and recheck to ensure that the short is not caused by a faulty Diode. Also you may need to activate the EOS switch to get a reading on one side. The actual readings may not be all that important at this stage but the main thing is that neither side has a complete short circuit.(Zero ohms)

Since the coil has been replaced already, it might be fine but it will certainly pay to check.

I will check the schematic to see if I can find out where the wht/blk wire goes, but I don't think it goes on the coil. !@#
