I think the coin doors in these old Ballys were done with Silver Frost paint. I dont think they were chrome, so I decided to do the Hammertone look.

FINAL UPDATE COMING SOON.

Nice Kev, real nice. The door came out a treat and blends in well with the lock down bar and legs. Paint job is A1. Can't wait to see the final pictures.

Kev - Simply outstanding ! Well done  ^^^

I like the use of the roller - I've never tried it. Do you roll it on straight out of the paint tin, or thin it a little ? No bleed there at all either. So you used low tack contact, or the same contact used on books etc ?

You have done an awesome job on this machine.

Paint is straight out of the tin. I would usually use masking tape on straight line art, but as you can see,all curves,so the only option is the contact (Book contact from Woolies) - Important to seal along edges to help with stopping paint bleed. I did have a bit of bleed and had to touch it up,main reason the age and type of wood - woodgrain is not completly flat even after sanding, so you could not completley seal it,where as my Jumping Jack,I had no problem as the wood was completely flat. Hope this makes sense.
