Flipperescue closing
« on: September 24, 2016, 12:55:00 PM »
Hi everyone,
Im closing Flipperescue down.
As such we will no longer be offering stencil sets and the GOTTLIEB licence will be going overseas to the USA.
Thank you to all those that supported our products in the past.. I hope I made restencilling a cabinet as painless as possible. Any future enquiries for stencil sets will need to go overseas.
Cheers!

Gav

Sad mate, but thanks for the stencils, my Firepower is beautiful, I am sure JP 1 is still looking great, and I have everything ready to start JP 2 any day, stencils lying flat and ready to go!

Sadly, the result of The "USA is the centre of the universe" again.  (((

As a professional restorer, I have used Gav's stencils for around a dozen games. Whenever there was a problem, he was on the phone with a solution, or would send me down a new stencil if I was having trouble.

I tried using USA based stencil "providers", and they were poor copies of Gav's format. Same everything, even to the point of ripping off the registration areas. I've tried all of them, thrown out most of them and had to fix two of them. I won't mention names, but when a stencil provider asks you to send back the entire set via international express post at my cost, they can get stuffed.

Sad to hear. At least Gav is in the knowledge that what he did create, it was the best quality.

Will be interesting to see how my next two repaints will fair - they are from the USA, and just rolling them out on the floor - they have issues already.

Although i hadn't used any of Gavs stencils on a resto, have to say that is indeed sad news for the hobby.

I'd always thought that i'd need to use them sooner or later for a cab repaint that the stencils would be too complicated (or impossible) to cut in my usual manner, but i won't get the chance now  !!!

Anyway its good to know that your stencils saved a LOT of games for a LOT of people while they were available Gav  ^^^ ^^^

Yes, me too.  I need a Playboy and a few others, but put it off until I was ready to do the cabinets.
