Hmmm fair enuff, but i used to churn out 'A' birch cabs with blank 'A/A' playfields for around $100 and sell for $150, and that was 2-3 yrs ago, prices for wood and fitting didnt jump that much.

If you don't mind me asking, what were you paying for wood sheets? I've shopped around a fair bit, and at current pricing there is more than $150 worth of material - and that's before you even switch on the CNC machine!

Good news: Our final sample is due on Tuesday so assuming we got all the bugs this time orders for reproduction WMS style cabinets and back boxes should be open by Wednesday.

Bad news: To make a perfect reproduction required custom manufacturing the backbox brackets and speaker panel channel since neither of these parts are available new anymore.

This has pushed up the cost a bit so I need to rework the pricing. It's looking like at this stage the currently listed pricing has no real margin so that will be the forum deal, and the RRP will need to be a bit higher to make it worth my time.

The only real change is due to the cost of laser CNCing acrylic, the backbox kit will not include the acrylic speaker panel sheet as standard (optional extra).

Full details in a few more days!

good to hear the good news and with the bad news I can't imagine they would be that expensive to affect your end price.. Try getting some quotes from laser cutters that specialise in electrical components as there laser machinery is slightly different in that it laser cuts and bends on one machine and there laser cutting nearly always is cheaper than a laser cutting service that just cuts. The electrical laser cutters have impressive machinery and are constantly chasing the works.

As a guide when I got the mirror blades and lane protectors made
- a laser cutter that just cut was 2-4 times more than a electrical laser cutter
- the cost for bending was $0.50 to $1 per bracket

same with the acrylic, you should be able to go to a sign writer with a laser and pump these out for $10 or less a panel if you opted for a 1200 x 2400mm sheet cut in one go.

hope it helps

Thanks for going to the trouble of supplying these items. Great to have a local doing the job.

Any chance of repo Data East Cab? Like Star Wars?

Thanks for the tips! The corner brackets and speaker panel rails are due this week and I'm waiting to hear back on a few quotes on acrylic cutting before I can finalize the price.

Dendoc: Our video pin cabs are based on the WMS design so that's why we will be offering those first. Early next year I'll look at reproducing other styles based on demand.

I need to do a Gottlieb System 3 headbox next as I have a headless Class of 1812 sitting here :)
