Pinball Cabinet Spare Parts
« on: October 26, 2013, 06:15:51 PM »
I'm sure many of you have been looking at my posts sideways, wondering why a guy who is building a business around virtual pinball machines is doing hanging out on a site dedicated to the real thing.

A video pin, in my opinion, is a homage to a mechanical pin. Not a replacement. But the whole point is to make the look and feel of the cabinet to be as authentic as possible.

With that aim we are currently designing WPC95 and Widebody cabinets and backboxes that will soon be available to purchase in flat pack form. We will offer all flat packs in either FormPly (for those who don't want to paint, or will be using vinyls) or Marine Ply for those wanting only the best quality. As well as being the perfect start for a video pin project, these cabinets can be used for restoration projects or even original custom pins.

We also plan to offer a full range of cabinet trim. Almost everything you need is already on our store (with a trim bundle coming soon) and I am proud to announce the first of our new, Australian Made pinball cabinet trim components:

*** Williams / Bally style stainless steel cabinet rails ***
$59 for a pair (including industrial double sided tape)
Flat shipping: $30 Australia wide

I take a lot of photos as I go through all the different toys and parts :)

Some get used as the product shots on the website (I try and have a few pictures per product when suitable) while most end up on our Instagram feed and/or Facebook page.

What sort of photos would you like to see?

It's honestly not something I'd looked into as yet - we've been flat out getting the CAD work finished for the flat pack cabinets and backboxes. I'll make some enquiries next week and see if anybody can produce something similar to this locally...

The technique Jersey Jack uses is proprietary and how they do it is, of course, a well kept secret.

I will speak to our glaziers and get their advice on the situation. I believe the basic idea is to produce the playfield glass using a similar technique to how eye glasses are made - but I honestly don't know.

Even if we can find somebody to give us a similar product, and there is enough interest, I still can't see the price being any less. I've been told the stuff works, but triple the price to let you play with the lights on?

Stock Update:

Looking at building your own video pin? Our complete Button Kit is now available for $129
http://infinityamusements.com/product/inf-btk/

Building a pinball cabinet? You might be interested in our Complete Trim Kit, starting at $495
http://infinityamusements.com/product/inf-trmkit/

And we're in the final stages of preparing our flat pack kits. We are getting corner brackets and speaker panel channels fabricated brand new so our backboxes will be a near perfect reproductions of a 90's era WMS/WPC backbox.

All flat packs are CNC cut and made from only A Grade Exterior Birch plywood. No particle board, no MDF, no CD grade plywood.
Kits come unfinished - ready to prime and paint.

Pinball Cabinet Flatpacks starting from $379.
Complete BackBox Kit (including all fittings and speaker panel) $199

Buy both and get $50 (so a complete cab kit from $528)

http://infinityamusements.com/product-category/flat-pack-kits/

If there is enough interested from the forums we can do a bulk run and get those prices down a bit further. But that's JUST for you guys ;)

Hard to tell by the pictures but is the Bally cabinet designed to suit virtual or could use it for pin cabinet replacement.. If not you should make it a option.

The pictures I've got up there now are renders from the CAD software. I've got an MDF build here to work out the last of the bugs and place the knockdown fittings before we start producing the final cabs.

They will indeed make suitable replacements for an actual Williams/Bally pinnie. All that's missing is the internal blocks for the playfield arm. Only the Infinity cabinet includes the hole for a joystick, the standard and Widebody coin door panels are designed from a "Hurricane" with an Extra Ball button added as well as space for both Launch Ball button and a plunger. It's easy enough to move around a few button holes if you know exactly what you are after.

Marty Machine: Expensive compared to whom? In comparison, ArcadeWorX sells their pinball flatpack for $480 and that's not a replica - it's designed for video pins, is made from MDF, and T-slots for playfield molding is $30 extra. The material alone (A Grade Birch vs MDF) is almost 5 times the price. IMHO I've underpriced if anything ;)

Hmmm fair enuff, but i used to churn out 'A' birch cabs with blank 'A/A' playfields for around $100 and sell for $150, and that was 2-3 yrs ago, prices for wood and fitting didnt jump that much.

Sack your supplier i reckon ;-)
