Good price for both buyer and seller.

The machine was in great condition, therefore the price was fair.

No losers on that one, then. I guess that a good condition and wanted SS will match a DMD for price.

greg

at the end of the day people  bid what they want to pay
as long as they enjoy the machine and are happy  then its good

i get so many people in and say I got XXX MONEY TO SPEND and  i say start here  and play as many as they can
most think cause a machine is 3k and not 5 its  not as good ,  if you smile and enjoy it then thats whats its about
you dont need to spend heaps to find a pin to enjoy   doesnt matter what brand   as long as its keep you playing and happy  thats what matters

my little girl loves shrek and i dont  but makes me happy to see her smile

we are all differnet and enjoy differnet pins

as long as you happy  ENJOY

I agree. My kids are absolutely loving/thrashing Flash at the moment which doesn't even come near a mid range DMD in value. When I had DMD's, my kids hardly looked at them. Sometimes a machine can have too many bells and whistles for it's own good.

Yeah, I still reckon two good players for around $2- $2.5K each outdo a top one for $4 - 5K. Some will disagree but that's the thing about pinball. It probably depends a bit where you are at in your collection, too. Apart from a certain pin which I am sure you can guess at by now, I wouldn't see myself paying top dollar yet.

The buyer got a nice pin, and if he is happy then its fair. Some of us have bigger budgets, or value some titles more than others.
Will be interesting to see what the Flash that has just appeared on ebay gets. I love Flash, kicks Star Treks arse for gameplay anyday! But I cant see anyone paying 2.5k for it. Have you posted pics of your Flash Creech? (after typing that pls dont think I am asking Creech to flash for us).  *.*  :lol

I can flash if you want if that floats your boat.  :lol

I am currently doing some touchups on the cabinet and then giving the cab a thin clearcoat of acrylic. Once that's all done I'll post some pics. You can grab a sneek peak at Nino's restoration pics of this here: http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=469.0

Flash only appeals to people in the hobby where as Star Trek appeals to a larger fan base...

This will significantly change the price !
Some people have big HEADS !

Glad the kids are enjoying the game -  ^^^

Two points here ;

1 - DMDs are more of a novelty for kids. They find the central "toy" and that it all that will hold their interest. DMDs are too complicated for kids starting out of pins. My son loved Jurassic Park for the T-Rex toy. There are only "so many times" you can watch the T-Rex pick up the ball. But sometimes I have to pull him away from Medusa or Paragon. He was actually in tears when the Flash left !

2 - Its a shame so many older pins are not serviced or restored, as owners don't know how to maintain them. So when a NICE game is up for sale - they fetch high prices.

Saw a Medusa today! Very interesting looking pin - I actually really liked the cabinet art on this one. It guess it was meant to have translucent flippers at the business end of the machine, and where those zipper flippers half-way up? The post between the flippers was able to be operated as a kicker, by the look of it.

+1

The Medusa was a great looking pin.  And the Vector backglass I'm still thinking about...

Medusa is the hardest of all the Ballys of that era. Highly sought after Pinball. There were only a handful in the country, now there's  quite a few coming in - which is great for collectors.

Translucent flippers are available from PBR, as is the rivetless targets. The "Shield of the Gods" makes the game look easier, but those side drainers are very common. Hardest and fastest Bally I've ever played. zippers are half way up.
