CPR factory clear coat
« on: January 30, 2013, 08:50:10 PM »
How good are the factory clear coats on the CPR playfields?

I only want to install my new playfield once so nows the time to re clear coat it if I'm ever going to but I'm not sure it needs it. At the moment the new playfield looks great and the only reason I'd consider having it re-coated would be to offer it extra protection but as I said above, I'm not sure that it needs it. What do others do?

Firepower was pretty decent - not an Eltimbo job, but very good. I decided that with home use, I was not going to wear it out any time soon so went with it as delivered.

Most I've seen have been OK to very good.

As far as other playfield manufacturers go, its really hit and miss.

CPR playfield clearcoats are excellent for what you pay for. I have several playfields and they are all perfectly good for restorations and will hold up well in the home environment. You can follow their guide to add more clears (on their site), but that's overkill as far as I'm concerned.
