Yes, this is just ONE of the quirky Mac problems. Yes, I'm an Apple basher and with good reason - they are a pain in the you know where. OK for checking emails and graphic design and 100% useless for any other purpose. Overpriced and under-usable. They look pretty and are suitable for posers driving MX5's and drinking lattes on the Esplanade.

How do you keep the ball in play with the machine on its side like that?

A lot of latte spilling happens when I'm playing pinball sideways. The Apple way of playing pinball. "Think Different".

Big thanks to Blair for dropping in the other day and lending a hand as well!

same happens to photos most times on a dam I.Phone as well.

Also, isnt Batman Forever one of the most beautiful/best looking pinball machines ever made !
The cabinet colours, the playfield colours and the translite all work perfectly together, then u throw in the jumbo DMD display, and u have a great machine. Audio is also excellent, and the boing boing boing noises espescially fun with the background music.
DMD annimations on the big screen are brilliant.

When that machine goes back u will miss it for sure.
Batman Forever in great condition, can be had for $2500 to $3500 if lucky. Up to 4 for a minter.
Now you get to play it heaps.  ^^^

Batman Forever looks like an amazing game....when the DMD is working. haha

Got home from work tonight. Having a ripper of a game...then I kept noticing the DMD flickering and the ROM version screen kept flickering on and off....then nothing. Reseated all cables several times and no life at all in the DMD...again.

I'm assuming this is a problem with the DMD controller board? Just tested it and it's getting around 4.5V.

The service bulletin 5V wiring kit arrived from Pinball Life, so I'm assuming that should fix the problem.

Cheers!
Adam.

Ok....I have now installed the 5V upgrade kit. Do most people have some kind of wire termination tool or do they jam the wire in with a screwdriver like on the instructions. Not an elegant way of doing things, but it got the looped wire into the connector. Another first for me tonight.

Fired the game up and the DMD is once again working.

Good to hear the upgrade cable came in handy after all.

Should make the display 'bullet-proof' for a good few years now. ^^^

I paid the cost of my order in postage from Pinball Life, but man would I be annoyed if I got to tonight and didn't have that upgrade cable in my toolkit. It would be a case of "WHY ISN'T MY DMD WORKING AGAIN!!!???" Then people replying saying that maybe pinball isn't the hobby for me. I'm also thankful I ordered a spare upgrade cable for the future. Maybe one day I'll get my own Sega machine with large DMD....maybe.

The 5V connector on the DMD controller board seemed really loose when I took the old one off (the new one was tighter when I installed it). Is this where it fails or something else in the chain?

Cheers!
Adam.
