The top right diagram is for a different model.

But I do see your point.

Provided the jumper selection matches the 18v wire position you would expect some sign of life. !@#

The display is currently over at Pinister's. He checked it out for me in his Frankenstein machine to see if the display had the same issues. It was blurry and outgassing in some parts from memory. The earliest I will have it back at my place is next Sunday.

it's a pity
it would be nice to prove everything else is working.

I have replaced one of these displays before in a bay watch and had no drams

check both your ribbon cables for the display (make sure the red wire is on pin one on both ends)
check you have 5 volts at the display driver board

Checked all ribbon cables in the machine and red is on pin 1.

Just checked the 5V at the display driver and it's measuring 4.8V DC.

Just about to post this but you beat me to it.

Checking the display driver 5v.

Mine is also quite low, but I have not experienced any boot/reset issues.

So, I wait for my 5V cables to arrive now and test the old DMD with the original wire configuration....or I put the jumper on the DMD back in the spot it arrived in?
:-p

The jumper needs to match the blue wire.

If you have the blue wire on pin 1,  then jumper on position 1.

If blue wire at pin 4 then jumper on position 4.

I think at the moment your blue wire is on pin1 but jumper set to 4.

Could the old display have damaged anything when it was in the machine?  I would say that about 1/3 of the display is significantly outgassed and it looks like it has been like that for a while.

Addicted to pins.

Please see pic of jumper on page 5 of this thread. It's on position 4 and the blue +12V wire is at pin 4 on the connector.

was the old display working in the machine when you pulled it out to replace it ? or was it completely dead?
if it was completely dead then you will have to look for the reason why it was dead in the machine you have fit the new display in if  2/3 of the display is still working when its connected to another machine.

Adam might be able to answer that, the old display was already out of the machine when I picked it up.

All was working fine when I took the old display out. Could play a game, just some parts of DMD were hard to read due to fog and in dire need of a new display.
