5th Element - What do you think of the theme, design ideas?
« on: March 30, 2013, 09:31:33 AM »
Sorry, not an actual pin but I reckon this would be an awesome pin with the movie having a great story line, great art potential, a potential fun game

movie short
utoplay=1&rel=0

sound track
utoplay=1&rel=0

a guy developed a visual pinball that looks very STERNish in graphics with the following rules applied

the RULES from the visual table listed above (not me):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-MULTIBALL:
1) spell STONE (left leaftargets near the diva).
2) avtivate the stone in the kicker (kicker near the bumpers with the stone on top)
3) repeat step 1 and 2 four times to get the multiballtrigger lit. But as soon as this trigger is lit the mangalores will block your way through. You will have to negociate with them first before you can reach the multiballtrigger.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-EXTRA BALL:
1) the extraball will be lit after shooting 5 times through the ZORK ORBIT (the outer orbit)
2) The way to the extraballtrigger will be blocked again by the mangalores. Well, you know what to do...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-IN & OUTLANE MULTIPLIERS:
every time the ball rolls through the inner LEELOO ORBIT the in & outlanes will invrease their score.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-HIT THE POLICE CAR:
1) In order to destroy the police car on the right ramp, shoot the left taxi ramp first.
2) If the taxi ramp has been shot, the police ramp is actif and you can shoot the police car.
The police car score will increase with every destroyed car.
In order tho destroy the next police car, you have to shoot the taxi ramp again first.
So it is a left ramp - right ramp - left ramp - right ramp.....thing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what do you guys think of the theme, rules ideas ??????

I have loved the 5th Element movie for years, would have made a hugely unique and fun pinball machine.

This movie has aged extremely well. You could bring it back out again tomorrow, and it wouldnt look like it was made prior to 2012/13.
It was way ahead of its time. Bruce Willis was great in it, as was the leading lady, Milla Jovovich.

I believe this is a Future Pinball table so the physics are a lot better than on a Visual Pinball table. I have played it a few times on my setup, it is a good game but the Middle Eastern style music that plays during the taxi chase scene in the movie gets a heavy workout in the game.

For anyone interested in having a go at it, it is very easy to setup Future Pinball (much easier than Visual Pinball).

Just install Future Pinball available for free:
http://www.futurepinball.com/

and then download the 5th element table from here:

I would love to see a Fifth Element pinball. Loved the movie and the pin would be a crowd pleaser. Maybe we should pitch it to JJP? Can't see Stern doing an old movie theme.

so I was a bit general in referring to visual / future

Q - I pretty sure the answer is no but can you load this onto a Mac?

I agree, or a boutique maker to design and test a proto and get spooky to make them

I don't believe so, or at least not without installing a 3rd party program such as PlayOnMac or ParallellsDESKTOP.

http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/ - costs $$$ but definitely works with FP

http://www.playonmac.com/en/ - FREE untested with FP may or may not work.

Even though I am running on PC I can say it is well worth setting up. I currently have over 500 Future Pin tables loaded.  &&
