I like Metallica, but i am not a huge fan. But i am confused where has the art come from? I don't recall any albums that had this art or figure. Unless it has been in the last few years?

Also (and i really don't want to ruin it for anyone) but when i look at the 'headbanging' figure i can only think of one thing...... %.%

Great to see metal ramps and and interactive toys though.  ^^^

They artwork is by a guy called Dirty Donny he did the artwork for the original Metallica pinball

He hasn't done album covers or anything like that, Metallica just liked his art and asked him to do 15 pieces for them, and now obviously he is also doing the new artwork.

Here is a little info on him and halfway down his dealings with Metallica http://www.gravyzine.com/Dirty%20Donny.html

pretty sure this was contracted for one of the Metallica band members who loves pinball

Replace plastics with custom stainless strips and you have a good playing game - no big deal.

Name DOWN for a Metallica Pro  ^^^  #*#  ^^^

I was dead against buying another music pin, but I can see why you would want one so quickly.
Something tels me, that this machine is going to be even cooler than ACDC.

Why does Stern have to bring out stuff all the time that sends u broke.lol
I havent listened to their music ever. Might have to, to see if its something I could listen to and play.....

When is the official Stern release I wonder ?  !@#

the layout does look good, but I just couldn't deal with the music over and over, sorry not a hater just not my music type.

hope they keep the wireforms, it would be nice to seem them compared to Avengers screened flat plastics

Same here although I hope it's pleases the Matallica fans out there :-)

It is very tempting for a non fan like me as well, i don't mind the band but can't call myself a fan. I can imagine the music blending  in very well indeed. Looks great so far!

It looks like the figure from that mobile phone/internet advert that was on TV about 18 months ago.....

It sounded like a reving motorbike with a frog noise combined if u remember the soundtrack for the advert.

Was it a TPG advert ?  !@#

Yeah it was the Crazy Frog, most annoying thing on the planet!

I would consider if the music was blended in like in Iron Man but if a AC/DC jukebox style - don't think I could deal with it and wifey wouldn't be impressed.

It would be great if they could programme a option to switch from jukebox mode in game play to backing music only as reckon they could get many more sales as Donny does great art and this is looking good and as for the layout  ^^^

I hear ya about the songs playing etc, but maybe something as simple as just turning the volume right down, will give the same background effect of having the music, but not loud enough to annoy you ???

It will be interesting to see how many ACDC owners buy one as well.....so far, it seems from initial feedback on different sites, alot of people are very tempted.

Not keen on the jukebox style either.

It needs to be different the jukebox works great with acdc and the live concert images but this title needs its own style as such.

I'm very keen on a Metallica if the overall package is a good one and depending on price. I love music themed pins.

Hi Nino

The CROSS is from the Master of Puppets cover  ^^^

Yes - I see why  @.@

I didn't look at the entire playfield, and it is a "work in progress", but I love the "..And Justice for all" and I can see any similar reference yet. I think the artwork is being left to Donny, and I believe this is great news.

too more images, nice detail on the hammer

The original 'hammer of justice' was done by an artist Metallica used a lot through the 80s named Pushead, he designed singles artwork used on T-shirts (most of the old tees featuring skulls were Pushead), the hammer was inside the sleeve on the ...And Justice For All album, the most recent thing he did for the band was the St.Anger artwork

Although a little bizarre it would have been interesting to see his art on a pinball, but I think Donny Gillies beatnik hot rod style suits pinball more than Pushead's abstract skulls
