Great to see new members take the plunge  ^^^ All are welcome to add their experiences.

More then happy to give it a go ;).

1. Earliest pinball memory?

Geez tough one. I think it would be playing a Kiss in the local café in my tiny hometown 'Woodburn'. I can remember that one day for some reason it was giving free games, so me an my mates played it all day ;)

2. All time favorite pin? Why?

I would have to say Williams IJ, but I need to add that I have never owned one. I have only played one a few times my whole life and the first time was in an arcade in Lismore, I would have been around 15. I played it a couple of times and something must of happened because I had to go and get the owner, ball must have gotten stuck or something? Anyway, he took the glass off and I started talking to him about the machine in general, asking a million questions and such. Noticing my interest he lifted the playfield to show me underneath, I was gobsmacked! He explained the workings, which went straight over my head, then gave me a few free credits and closed it up, will never forget it. From then on I began my journey of one day owning an IJ and after nearly 25 years the light is at the end of the tunnel..

3. Favorite pinball manufacture?

Williams I guess, but really I don't have one, the gameplay is key for me so I don't care who made it.

4. Favorite game in your collection? Why?

The only game I have in my collection is an EM called Gulfstream, its the only machine I own which I know I will never get rid of, everything else I have is either for sale or a project. Two other games I have working 100% are Jackbot and BOP (which is leaving today). Jackbot has a deeper rule set and you gotta love the Casino Run mode but it just doesn't have the "one last go" effect of the BOP, so I guess I would say BOP.

5. How long have you been collecting?

If I include when I started with the Gulfstream then I guess 11 years. The last couple of years though I have been able to really get into it due to finances and a couple of lucky finds.

6. First game and how did you find it?

It is an EM Gulfstream. I actually got it off a late friend of mine who use to be a service tech in the area.  use to go over and help him restore the odd  pin whilst drooling over them the whole time. He sold me the Gulfstream for $250 from memory and I gave it the royal treatment from head to toe. It came up fantastic and thus began my collection. He really inspired me to get into more then just playing pinball's and opened my eyes to the finer details and appreciation of the art that it is. Unfortunately his life came to a tragic end far to early in December 2008 on a country road one afternoon coming home from work. This machine is a memento of him, those times, and how he inspired me so will always be in the collection.

7. Do you still have it?

Yes

8. What are you currently working on?

I have just received a Fish Tales and a Getaway, with another Fish Tales and Getaway coming soon..

9. Most wanted game to add to your collection?

I only just got hold of an IJ, which is heading down to Hot Rodded Pin's very soon for the royal treatment! So I am unsure now what next is going to the top of the list, maybe CFTBL or TAF?

10. Best all time bargain game added to your collection?

Have not really had one yet.

11. Worst ever miss – tell us about the one that got away!

Have not really had one yet, thank god.

12. Worst ever purchase – tell us about the game you wished you never bought

Have not had one of these yet either, fingers crossed and touch wood I never do.

13. Describe your collection

TO SMALL!

14. Describe your gamesroom

Non existent.

15. Do you have other games other than pinball?

I have an electric pub type dart machine, red scorpion or something it is, awesome thing, could have sold ten of them to mates.

16. Where can you see the hobby in 10 years?

Its hard, but I think that all these new manufacturers could be great initially, but may inevitably flood the market and all of a sudden send things in the wrong direction. At the moment people are happy to hand out money for a new hot off the press pin as it is such a unique product and the 'main' manufacturer still exists because of this unique aspect. When all this is spread out again across three or more manufactures I feel something would have to give, but that it just my opinion.

^^^ this hobby bites hard when you start restoring. I am glad you have at least 1 EM in your collection and a good memento of your mate
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

Thanks for your contribution. Gulfstream will forever be in your collection as a tribute to your friend. All machines have a story, and provide a memory.
