Hello from 2Restorationuts
« on: November 18, 2013, 05:49:08 PM »
Hello to everyone on the forum$.$
As you would notice we have just joined and have just bought our first pinball machine and look forward to chatting meeting people...
Our machine is a Galaxy and we only bought it home yesterday....
I fully understand everyones passion with these great machines...
I have great memories of Pinball Machines, Duke boxes and all the great old fashioned amusements.
They are a great social creator....
Our machine still needs some finer details but is in great shape for its age.
Look forward to chatting again soon. #*# ^^^

Galaxy, cool. I like a good space themed pin.  %)% to AP, lots of good people here to offer advice should you have any pin problems down the track.

Hi There to everyone that responded to our "Hello to all"
I won't get "off topic" but our 1980 Galaxy was working a treat when we brought her home Sunday.
Had tea #@# Went back for another "FIX" and nothing working.
Bought her as fully restored but we know they can be volatile...
We thought perhaps the trip home (even though blanketed, covered etc) may have distabilised some fuses perhaps but as I said all good on getting home short of a couple of lights now working.
Replaced the main MPU today now everything is working bar a couple of lights (we can fix that) but no sound. ^&^

A pinball machine just "aint as Perrtie" without sound. @.@
This thread may need to be moved into "repairs etc..."
I am on other forums and am familiar with rules but any advice is appreciated.
We are all pretty wired cookies (excuse the pun @@*) but they boards on these machines do our brain circuits @.@ LOL
Thanks in advance for advice...
Wozza (hubby) is thinking a whole new board replacement.....???
Thanks again

Its unlikely you need to replace the sound board  *.* As wiredoug suggested start by checking connectors etc, in particular check the connectors from the MPU to the sound board are connected correctly.

Galaxy is a great game that gets a lot of love here on AP. I have one in my collection in need of a playfield restore.. one of these days i'll get to it.
