Up for sale is an unused Illinois Pinball reproduction Medieval Madness Playfield that is surplus to my needs. I would describe it as a seconds quality. I bought it for a restoration before the more expensive and better quality Mirco MM playfields (now $3000 from Mark.C) were available and have now decided to use a Mirco instead.
It's hard to describe and photograph a pf accurately but here goes!
The pf is available for inspection at my place (near Byron Bay). I have done some better quality scans which I'm happy to email or put on Dropbox for anyone interested in the pf.
At a first inspection the pf looks great. Colours are vibrant and the screen registrations look to me to be accurate. The clearcoat is good but not perfect, there are a couple of very minor dust defects which you have to look for to find. The reasons that I would classify the pf as a second are:
1. Some of the insert decal writing is blotchy (has lighter spots in the writing). This doesn't occur on any of the insert decals that have a white background but is in varying degrees on most of the others. The inserts in the detailed photo are probably amongst the worst offenders.
2. There is a bit of bleeding on some of the exterior black lines (that would not be visible once the pf was installed.
This would be a great pf for someone who the skills to replace insert decals and clearcoat a playfield or who isn't doing a collectors quality restoration. I am including a set of new insert decals with the sale which could be used to replace or possibly cover the existing decals.
Freight to most capital city e-go depots is between $20 and $30. If you are interested I can get you a firm price. I'm happy to drop off at the East Lismore depot (pc 2480). You can if you prefer, pay an extra cost for depot to door shipping.
