PPCR meet at Oldskools place
« on: August 24, 2014, 11:20:03 PM »
Perth Pinball Collectors & Restorers had a fantastic get-together today after a longish hiatus.
Big crowd turned out for a very fun day co-hosted by Andy & Anthony.
The comp. format was really unusual if not to say weird in a cool way. The brains trust cwill need explain it 'cos I'm too thick.
Plenty of nibbles & a great snag sizzle followed by cakes, choccies and lotsa good stuff.

The observant pinhead might percieve a distinct surfing theme at Andy's pad, pity the timing of the event couldn't include the "piece de resistance" Surf Champ that Nino has done such a wonderful job of.
Any road, there were plenty of quirky/cool machines to be getting on with and we all had blast.

The pics:

* Goody table with some of the prizes etc.
* Lunch time for those who could be dragged off the games . . .
* Indoor pin room where it's literally on for young & old.
* Al fresco games with a bunch of dudes and a dudess.

Continues . . . . .

Continued . . . .

* Mike was the first to TILT a game and under house rules was made to wear the jester's hat (under sufferance)
* Robin re-won the "Rusty Balls Award" but also got a little pressie with it. To her right are our hosts Andy (Oldskool) and Anthony the wizard techie.
And, oh yes, Sheba, the creator of the next little gem of a prize . . .
* Mike (again) received very special prize for the shittest score of the day.
* And the BIG winner - Mike again, receiving the "Freudian Flip Award" and the PPCR super special esky thingo.

There was also a mystery prize and some nifty DOOR prizes - concealed behind selected coin DOORS! Won one myself for outstanding prowess %$%
I suppose all this goes to show that some pinball-do hosts are mad bastards?

More photos tomorrow.
Games in line up were.
Big Buck Hunter Pro, Gilligan's Island, High Hand, LW3, Fish Tales with colour DMD ^^^ , Space Station, Dr Dude and his excellent ray, Monopoly, RBION, Shrek which later had Family Guy ROM installed for a laugh.
DEFENDER video game for the people who wanted a break.
Thanks to all the guys/ gals that came to Anthony and my pinapalooza.
Comp. Was designed tho be a fun one, it was based on averages, you played all 10 machines and recorded you're score for each game we then totalled combined points for those games then divided by the amount of machines played ie;10. Thus giving you an average.
This way anyone could have one on the day.
It is a great feeling when all the machines you had worked perfectly and with out fault all day, except one air ball on LW3.
Thanks for posting Max.

Beaut collection there. Gees those old long boards look massive when you see one spanning across 4 pinball machines.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

My guess is that a longest King Brown would be about 10 feet long. Nice name for your board and it would be a hell of a fright stumbling on a snake that long.
Theme ties in well with your new Surf Champ.
