CPR Playfield PRE ORDER rules and changes
« on: November 24, 2014, 11:07:01 PM »

I'm gathering final details regarding the pre order commitment and how it affects distributors - up until now, distributors DID NOT handle pre orders. I have been in discussion with CPR regarding a change to this method - but before that happens - you might want to read the new rules and note the new playfields ;

Paragon
Space Invaders

Addams Family

For now - FOLLOW the instructions  ^^^

More news as it is released.

Great to see some new widebody pins being done but what happened to Medusa and Skateball from that list? They've disappeared, I really hope they're still being done?

Noticed that as well - I've emailed CPR for the reason - hopefully just a mistake !

Skateball and Medusa have full lists - but not yet started. The idea behind the new pre order system is to adhere to the specified timeframe. These titles will be merged back into the pre order list when they can be guaranteed to be completed within 18 months.

Members can specify if they want to have their playfield shipped to APR - it will be cheaper if sent in bulk. There are other options we can look at. The shipping for Paragon and space Invaders will be much more than a standard playfield.

I don't like their attitude
I have bought most of their playfield, only bailed once, High Speed
Most of this run seemed to be seconds, I don't see why we should be forced to buy imperfect stock

Thanks for following up Nino, I'm glad to hear they're still planning on making those playfields. I don't quite understand CPR's new structure though. If Medusa and Skateball have full lists but manufacture can't be guaranteed within the next 18 months so they don't go on the official pre order page. Then does this mean that the intention is to bump these games in favour of other new games on the page which do not yet have full lists? Hopefully it all becomes clear soon.

Are you talking about the pre order playfields Pete or other playfields offered for sale? I must be missing something here.

That if you pre-order, you MUST buy

As I said, I have bought most of the playfield they have produced
These guys take years to produce a playfield
Maybe when they get around to making that playfield, I have no funds?
Despite being a very good customer, Iam now on their sh!t list

Ok, I understand now. I thought you were talking about seconds playfields. I also agree that the new "must buy" system is not great. I think they may struggle unless they can guarantee delivery dates but then again what do I know? I still want to see these made, hopefully the ones I have my name down for will come back on the list soon.

I am also taking about seconds
At the start of the year the made High Speed
Most of these had issues with cracking of some of the inserts
Most were graded as seconds
What happens if all the firsts are sold by the timemy name cones up on the preorder list? Do IHAVE to buy a ssecond?

That's not correct. You can "bail out" prior to the three month "cut off" ;

"If one must bail, there IS time for that, without consequence.  Up until production (the last 2-3 months just before release), the
Inbox here will remain open.  Simply email again into the applicable Inbox, message titled "FORFEIT", and state your forfeiture.
We will simply subtract your playfield(s) from the run length - no harm, no foul, no wasted time or materials for CPR."

Yes - they have taken years to produce playfields. That's why they implemented this new system. Within those 4-5 years, production runs of particular titles didn't change to reflect the pinheads who had to pull out due to circumstances. I'm happy to wait years for playfields if I know they are going to happen and the old playfield is worn to wood. They are almost guaranteeing an 18 months turnaround.

How are you on their "shiezen list" ?

It is not "must buy" if you sent the Forfeit email 3 months prior to the cutoff.

Seconds playfields are clearly denoted. The last batch of playfields I bought have clear "Gold Edition" stamps on them. They are perfect. I own over 20 playfields - the only seconds playfield I have is a "Flash Gordon", and there's no way the untrained eye can tell the difference until I point it out. I knew it was a seconds before I bought it.

Kevin and I are working on a plan to have APR the "Aussie Distribution hub" for playfields. Pinheads who use this method will have their playfields sent to me in bulk - saving on shipping (figures need to be worked on). It looks like Paragon and Space Invader will be more expensive than a standard playfield. This would be organized through APR. Some details need to be worked on - but it looks like it will work.

If you bail within the last 3 months, you are then on their prepay list

I have bailed twice,:Star Trek I somehow ordered twice
High Speed, that came up at the same time as the mini run of Fathom came up, I could only afford one playfield

So, would only bailing twice since they started put me on their prepay list?
With all the red on their erb site. Probably
