run-dmd instructions

they are working on a way to transfer animations as currently may upset Stern if sold with animations.

here is a recent post from another site from the creator

The Run-DMD is also capable of running together with a regular 5V LED DMD:s from XPin.

If someone buys a complete kit that comes all in one box at a set price with instructions, and makes it work, pls post here exactly what you ordered and what you paid and got and some of us might follow and get it.

But the website and what to order exactly and what it is u exactly need isn't clear to me at this stage.

I would want mine already loaded with software so more mucking around isn't required.
They have to keep it simple if they want people's $.

Good idea otherwise.

it is in the FAQ section

Beside the Run-DMD, here's what you need to get started..
Got any questions? Please drop us a line at: info@run-dmd.com for more information!

1. To display some awesome animation, you will need two DMD displays.
Single Color DMD: http://goo.gl/AAPuUY
Dual Color DMD: http://goo.gl/rRU4Uo

2. To power things up, you'll need a PSU.
For single color, you'll need an 8A PSU: http://goo.gl/2S3KMk
For dual color, you'll need a 10A PSU: http://goo.gl/1Gkh5r

3. The Run-DMD will be shipped without any software, but a bird whispered in my ear that you can download an image filled with some awesome animations here: http://goo.gl/4pdzlJ :)

4. Here's the mounting instruction. Things could have changed since Torbjörn (the Run-DMD constructor) made these, so please drop us a line if you have any doubts. Download the mounting instructions as a PDF file here!

5. Enjoy!

PS. The Run-DMD also works perfect with a standard pinball DMD, like the XPin DMD. If you're going to use it with a standard pinball DMD, you could use a 5A PSU instead of 8 or 10: http://goo.gl/Tx46sq

at todays exchange rate today works out at $245 AUD plus the frame which they will be providing the CAD files very soon.

There is a link in the FAQ of the website for the clock and a heap of Williams and Stern animations ready to go, you just don't buy the run-dmd with it so Stern etc don't get upset.

To save all that hassle they need a simple kit at a set price.
When you have to spend an hour on a website stuffing around and getting this and getting that, you just lose total interest. Keep it Simple Sir - KISS method is best.

One simple kit at one simple price or they don't get my money.

Yep, gotta agree here. Clock looks really cool but will I buy one, nope. Why, because I don't want to build a housing for it nor do i want to add my own animations....they'd come out like stick figures  :D

Im guessing here, but the DMD clock would/could work the same as an LED screen... you put in your size and pixel ratio to the interface program.. add any graphics, clock, names..anything really. Send to memory on the DMD board and she should be ready to go.

It SHOULD be that easy id say... ( LOL I say SHOULD... go program an LED screen... lucky if theres not lots of f***in around)
