My first flipper rebuild
« on: April 13, 2015, 10:35:07 AM »
Guys, probably only of interest to noobs, but when I stripped my demo man p/f I also rebuilt the flippers.  Old weren't too bad - very minor mushrooming but also some movement - definite improvement with the new ones in. It's a surprisingly easy job (with a rebuild kit) - it was 10 mins per side for me without experience.  What's interesting is how much better designed the new parts are for tightening the flipper bats - the old  parts had a std nut one side & an allen nut the other - NIGHTMARE to undo & to tighten. The new part has one side welded fixed - so just one std nut. So easy to tighten & get flipper properly aligned. Pic of old/ new below.

I enjoy Porsche, Gibson LPs, Bally-Williams & learning about pinball maintenance & restoration.

Good stuff. Particularly that you replaced the bushings as well.

Yeah good AP advice told me to do the bushings while there.
Definitely up for a new high score Pete - almost feels like cheating though  %.%
