Kasco Gun Smoke repairs
« on: April 17, 2015, 12:42:29 PM »
Hello I first apologise if I have put this in the wrong section if this is only for pinball repair questions?
I have recently bought a Kasco Gunsmoke machine my first acrade machine super excited unfortunately I have no sound? I am wondering if the first basic route is to check the patency of the speaker and if the wires are attached I am wondering is the speaker behind the grill that appears on the front left side of the machine (beside the gun) and if it not connection problems/ new speaker what do I check next?
Thanks for your time guys and gals I really appreciate it

Shane

Never worked on a gun smoke before but yes checking the speakers is a good place to start.  If your set your multi meter to ohms you should see around 4-8 ohms.   Also check the connector on the sound board try removing it and putting it back on also check the fuses.

Also dry solder joints are often a problem on old sound boards

Congrats on the game. One of the best EM arcades I have played. The main problem to watch out for is the hologram. Is yours faded at all?
The sound board is housed in small aluminium case around the back of the game. You could check this is all connected up.
