Whirlwind, opinions?
« on: June 27, 2015, 08:43:39 AM »
Never had a chance to play Whirlwind
Is it a great sys11, or a one trick (spinning discs) pony?

I have never really liked spinning disks on playfields, for me the randomness is just too much. But if you like that, then this has it in spades!

Sounds like McKie1 is enjoying his.  ^^^

Any pin that serves a dual purpose of delivering entertainment and simultaneously providing one of the creature comforts has to pass muster.

Now if it mixed a beverage while you played and served it to you through the coin door it would be luxury.  #*#

The functioning fan topper makes a nice addition.  ^^^

It is a good novelty inclusion to a solid game.

Yep, got to have the topper for a nice blow.
I like the original weather theme too! Some nice fast shots and IMO a true classic of the era.
A STORM IS COMING, HEAD TO SHELTER.
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

Peter, we just store them in a TARDIS. Lol

Seriously though, it is a fun game but does need to be in more than a 2-4 pin collection, imho.

Great callouts and tunes.

Becoming a popular game, Twister is similar.
I like the random nature of the spinning disc, Twister has a really cool feature where is uses a magnet to catch the multiball drop on the spinner then spins and releases the balls.
