Artwork is underwhelming. No characters on the playfield. I guess that was a ploy to avoid photoshop (a good thing). LE is just too messy. Pro looks like a desert. Not sure about the layout. It looks ok, but it didn't blow me away like TWD LE and KISS LE.

Miniplayfield will be too easy - should have used 2 inch flippers.

I would not go with the Pro - too basic. Maybe that's also a good thing ?

I wouldn't pay 8k for a pro like that, so stripped down it isn't funny.
Be worth no more than 6k the moment you take it out of the box. Prem/le is the way to go if got is your thing.
I just think this whole release looks tacky and rushed, I thought SR and Stern have been working on this for ages? Sure doesn't look like it!

I have never seen the show so can't  say it is a must for me and can understand the use of some gears given the time setting but just seems like it is almost going steampunk as a little too many gears.

There are some elements that are cool and some that are terrible:
-nice that stern provided 3d renders of the game which are nice quality but the game components will never look this so doubt the finished product will match these images.
- I like the sword idea for stopping the ball and letting just one ball at a time through from the ball lock (I think) - can see the sword getting some realistic mod upgrades
- the shield inserts are cool, and new for this game which is nice and original but the playfield looks a little over powered by them all - almost out of proportion or unbalanced.
- the super jackpot / wildfire log looks like a similar Dutch Pinball rug idea concept idea.
- the pro is radically different and looks too bland and empty in the back lhs corner - wonder if some one would contemplate a mini-playfield mode for the pro. Someone could get a le and pro and compare and could possibly do well in a $1000 kit to bolt in??? to add features like a le....
- in a way it is better without characters on the playfield to make it a little more appealing in the future but the trans and cabinet art on the pro especially is crap.

so comparison pics

Yeah, totally underwhelming release on this one. The Pro is so cut down, it looks like a different game....and a Game of Thrones Pro without a throne???? The Pro is also missing Khaleesi and Jon Snow on the cabinet art. Would be like AC/DC Pro removing Angus!

One of my favourite TV shows at the moment and just not feeling it. I was the same for The Walking Dead, but after a year, I would now buy one. Will let Game of Thrones mature and actually play one down the track.

Not a theme for me & tbh I can't really get into the "series" as pin themes - where's the timelessness? Pro model looks so stripped it really IS the pro model. Seems like Stern is going from a win with Kiss to a big dump with this one - but we'll see.

I like to call myself Sterns biggest fan but I don't feel anything for this release at all.

The playfield art has no pictures at all - zilch people, just insert shapes.
I expected to see WhiteWalkers and various people from the show or at least a medi evil village and the Great Wall or the Kings Landing map layer out on the playfield etc etc etc.
the playfield artwork is terrible. Someone who knows absolutely nothing about the show did this artwork.

Then it gets worse, the cabinet art is bare minimum at best.
Then the back box translite is high school and not world class anywhere.

The look of the whole thing is just plain bad. I can't believe Stern allowed this to be the so called final machine release.
It's like it was rushed badly to kill JJP,s Hobbitt sales.

This game needs major major revision before release.
It needs scrapping in my view.

I have often said don't judge a game til u see it in person but this one looks terrible.

Every release Stern has done recently like Star Trek, ACDC , X Men , WWE, The Walking Dead, Kiss and Mustang, Metallica and the list goes on we're all superb looking in Pro form not to mention the other models but this title looks dreadful and I am a huge fan of Stern but this has dissapointed me BIG time.
Nothing looks tied together.

Is it a bad rush job or is the artwork been done by someone who just had no passion for the show ?
I just can't understand how Stern can hit a dozen home runs then allow this past the doors to be seen in public. It's just plain ugly  and looks as boring as buggery. The playfield art is the worst I have seen since the start of DMD machines ? I hope to hell they make some big changes or it will sink like the titanic.
I will send a honest letter to Stern.

I look forward to seeing the machines in person and maybe I will change my mind, but I am honestly in shock.
This one is just plain terrible in every way and that's hard for Sterns biggest fan to say.
Hope things get better on this one.
Still can't believe how amateur it looks.
A massive departure from Sterns last ten titles. Dissapointed on this one.
I predict sales will be very bad and Stern will be getting a lot of feedback so this mess doesn't happen again in the next dozen releases.

Anyone think similar thoughts to me ?

No price rise is a positive for local buyers at least.

Also noted no mention of Premium or their pricing is interesting.

Hedging their bets like they did with TDE Premium. If the LE sells out quickly, then the Premium will be made. Judging on the initial response, it looks unlikely. I'm on the fence with this game. There's so much potential to hit the younger generation that love this show. Taking advise from GOT Fans - there's no characters on the playfield, so the interest is not there. Licensing issue perhaps ? No John Snow LE ?

Some close up playfield mock up shots as a slideshow here:

It's bad - really bad! I like the upper playfield but the rest really is a shocker - it's like someone was let loose with a shape template & got over-excited with using the triangle. This is honestly one of the ugliest playfields I've seen. I just don't get it - it must have been rushed???

Reminds me of looking at Big Buck Hunter.

...I hope your right Cavey, and this was rushed to get out before the Hobbit.

I'd still be happy do drop some cash into the coin box, even the Pro.  But I can't see any market for this as a home pin.

Not much left to say here, except what are the rumours for Sterns next pin?

Stern won't need to rush any title out to beat Hobbit. There's probably another 5-6 Stern releases before that needs to be taken into consideration...
