The Pinball Compendium - new book release
« on: October 15, 2008, 06:30:16 PM »
Great News...the advance copy of The Pinball Compendium by Michael Shalhoub has just arrived to Schiffer Publishing in the US and is due to be released on or about October 31st!

Now I have had a PDF version of this for approx 4 months and if you love (or even intereted) in EM pins this is the book for you. I would hate to know how many hours I have lost at work drooling over this book. Best book, hands down on pinballs so far.

Now, speaking with Michael last night he has offered all readers of Aussie Pinball the book at cost plus shipping to anywhere in Australia. The book will come signed as well.

Please contact Michael directly at: pinballmaster@ozemail.com.au

Yes, just email Mike directly - I asked about the price and he wasn't sure yet.

He also has the 3 other books at cost.

Cheers

Tony

Some good news - off the phone with Mike and he has brought back 2 boxes from his recent US trip of his new book. He initially had 10 (I got 3  <.>) and they sold out straight away.

So posting here to let you guys know that they are available at cost price to members of AP, he is still to figure out the final price and will let me know.

The book is signed and this book is the best of its type done on EM pins hands down.

Also just as a side note Mike is currently working on a Pinball Compendium of all pins from 1977 onwards

Hi Tony,
thanks for the offer mate, I have Mike's first three books now and was wondering what the new book covers that the previous three didn't.  Has Mike gone a bit deeper with more photos and info?  Is that what he is planning to do with his next book as well?
Regards,
Matt.

It covers the EM era from 1930s to the late 70s with over 1,000 colour photo and close to 300 pages

Yes, goes into much more detail also features alot of stories about the guys in the hobby.

All the games are restored and are just stunning. Lots I had not even heard about and had to look them up on IPD

Best book on the subject hands down - Mike is now working on his next book which will cover the SS era

Thanks heaps for doing this Tony ^^^. I emailed Mike and ordered book 3, which i didnt have, and enquired about his latest one as well. He didnt waste any time sending it out (had it in about 2 days after getting his email saying he'd sent it, and providing payment details, as well as promising to let me know when the 4th book was available.  That was a little over a month ago now and im about half way thru reading it, and enjoying it heaps! I think i'll send him another email soon, telling him the same, as he asked me to let him know what i thought of the book.
