Favourite Pinball Year of Release
« on: May 28, 2009, 11:23:00 AM »
We all have our favourite pinball machines, but what about your favourite Year of Release?  !@# Was there a year in which pinball produced the highest percentage of your favourite machines, or perhaps just a year that you enjoyed the releases the most or have pinball memories that will stay with you forever?

My favourite Year of Release is 1993 - TZ, WH20, ST:TNG, JD, IJ, BSD, LAH. It was also the year that I was an exchange student and have fond memories of playing Rocky & Bullwinkle & The Getaway at the local take-away shops.

For me definitely 1978 - all those classic SS machines, challenging enough to play without too many bells & whistles

I'm going with 2007 - and it wasn't Stern, it was the only other manufacturer on the planet...

Easy - 1980, the year classic Stern ran hot - Galaxy, Ali, Big Game, Cheetah, Seawitch, Quicksilver, Star Gazer and Nine Ball.  To boot Firepower,Black Knight, Nitro Groundshaker, Space Invaders, Skateball and  Xenon all came out in this year.

cheers
Ian

Hmmm, tough one - I would like to say 1981 but I will have to think about it.

Any year was a good year  *%*

If I had to name one would be the same year I was born 1964 - just a series of beautiful, classic Gottlieb pins:

Big Top
Gigi
Ship-Mates
World Fair
Bonanza
Bowling Queen
Majorettes
Sea Shore
North Star
Happy Clown

Mighty hard to pin one year on production of early ninety Bally/Williams pin's.
So many great titles came out in the early ninety's. Gonna have to go with the year my favorite pin was made which is CFTBL in 93. Also was lucky to meet the games designer John Trudeau at last years U.K. Pin Show (what a great guy).
