Pic 8 is of the wood being cleaned, blemishes bogged, sanded and then I painted it black to hide any future marks/scrathes that may occur. Th ewhite really highlighted scratches before.

Next pic is of the decal being applied, via windex on the sticky side of the decal and on the headbox wood itself, so both surfaces are nice and slippery. You have enough time to position the decal as desired and then squigee the windex between the headbox and decal (not too hard to avoid moving the decal and maybe squeezing out any gum)

Let it dry for say 10-15 minutes before trimming (pic 9) with a new, sharp knife. I actually cut a fair wack of the white part on top off to avoid the decal curling and folding over before letting it dry a little. I cut with the knife at an angle and use the actual headbox edge as a guide. Pic 10 is it fully trimmed.

The last 3 shots are of the T-molding going on. Basically I knocked it on lightly with a hammer (actually a punch rod from an industrial punch & die set). For the tight curve I cut a "V" off the insert part that goes into the T-slot, so I could get a nice fit. With the start/end join I knocked as much into place and then added 1mm and cut. It gave a nice clean fit. I'll take a photo of this to illustrate. And all finished

Looking good!

Do you spray the black on (pressurepack) inside or brush?

Brushed and spent ages sanding. The cabinet I will spray or even get my son to do it at his place with all the good gear. He now tells me he's done clear coating, so can be handy when I do the T2 playfield

Getting closer now. My son has just finished spraying the main cabinet. He even did the inside for the same price (FREE!!)

The job was a little harder seeing he had to mask a bit of stuff seeing I couldn't be bothered removing the hardware from inside the cab. Here's a few shots from his phone.

Looks very shiney  $#$ can't wait to see it on Sunday when I pick it up (PSP meet on Saturday)

Yep reckon it'll look fantastic, but best of all is I love playing it. I've got the legs at the powdercoaters and should be ready this week. They were painted so had to get them sandblasted first and he was getting concreting done, hence the wait. Tried to get that textured look at first but wasn't happy with the result from PC and so getting just a smooth black look. The PC owes me a few favours so I can experiment a little at no cost.

Will post pix of the result good or bad

Finally got the cabinet art on and has been sitting there for over a week without touching it. Same process as the head (wet treatment). Here's some photos. Picture 4 shows the new T-molding I put on. The old black molding was shot. I reckon the red looks better anyway, beside I didn't have black.

I also put on new rails because my old ones got trashed at the powdercoaters. They did a good job on the legs but absolutely stuffed my rails. Should have left the rails alone as they had minor scratches but I thought I could bring them up to mint (WRONG!!!)

Anyway I thought I'd take the opportunity to demo putting rails on.

1. place the rail in position without removing the protective strip from the double sided tape (car grade indoor/outdoor trim tape used).
2. Temporarily insert the locking bolt to fine tune the final postion of the rail
3. Apply masking tape to about 3 points on the rail and fold over to stick also on the inside cabinet. These will act as psuedo hinges
4. remove the bolt.

pics 1 - 3 show what I mean

Picture 4 & 5 demo the hinges effect.

5. Remove the protective film/tape from the double sided tape
6. Carefully lower the rail into position, trying not to allow it to stick yet.
7 Re-insert the bolt
8 Push down on top of the rail and also push it against the side of the cabinet to stick it in position. Do this repeatedly all the way along the rail until stuck in position.
9 Remove the masking tape and tighten the bolt and you are done. (pic 6)
