WMS Blackout basket case...
« on: June 08, 2009, 02:32:27 PM »
Have a go at this basket case of a machine...

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=330332350005

The whole thing seems a bit suss regarding the actual condition.  All displays are cracked, has translite instead of original BG, CPU board is missing battery holder, flippers, plastics, buttons, plunger missing (and God knows what else) too hard to tell from the distant pictures.  The whole thing sounds like the guy has used this cabinet to dump every WMS pinball part he has that doesn't work.  Seriously how do you end up with all displays cracked.  The only saving grace this machine has is if the playfield in good nick, otherwise he should be paying someone to take it away.

Am I making sense?  It's nothing like those two EM's at Bendigo where you can tell that even though they are badly neglected they are still relatively complete machines.

I sent an email enquiring about PF condition and some more details but I doubt I'll be getting a reply.

It's a shame as it would be a great project except that the backglass is missing....the chances of finding another would be slim

Nice find! Pity they won't ship internationally.  Can you imagine getting it here and it's just handfuls of glass  ^&^

If you ask MarkC nicely he will put it in one of his containers for you for a small fee; just need to get it to him first.

Crickey now it's gone to $355 and there are still 2hrs to go, man this is crazy!!

I also notice one bid on that Pro Football from Bendigo - only a serious restorer would go for that and good on them - I just hope the price doesn't go too far on it because it's definitely a machine you'd buy for love not ROI ;)

If this helps....  !!!

I've been looking for a blackout backglass for 3 years now.... ( well reasonably priced, not $300 - $500 US postage on top and in decent condition )

90 % of the glasses i have come across ( at least 10 ) would not have been better than a 5-6 in condition !

Some people have big HEADS !

Unless the buyer has a bckglasses and a heap of parts  :D

Hope they haven't bought it thinking they will find a backglass cheap for that game.

Still as I have said many times before, not long ago that game would of been taken to the dump, so at least there is a chance she will be saved

I can't believe that. Defies logic.
