Gottlieb Flipper Rebuild?
« on: June 12, 2009, 12:21:58 PM »
Hi Guys,

I'm embarking on my first Gottlieb flipper rebuild (full).  They're somewhat different to what I've done previously (D.E/WMS).  I've ordered and recieved kits from PBR (Greg wasn't here!) and on the attached pic, the pin which holds the flipper plunger/tip in place - how is this removed, does it need to be replaced and where can I get them from (hopefully locally).

Thanks in advance

I use a metal hole punch the same size as the outer diameter of the pin, and with a hammer tap it through. They have always seemed to survive, so I just tap them back in after the swap.

Yep - the hole punch must be larger than the inner diameter of the pin, and smaller than the diameter of the pawl. When you replace the plunger - you can reuse the pin - but be careful that the two side of the pawl remain parallel - or the plastic plunger link will not move freely !
