Stern Simpsons
« on: July 10, 2009, 02:53:19 PM »
Hi all newbie here, curious about a problem encountered on a Stern Simpsons table(not too worried not my table #@#) this pin is sited at our local hoyts cinema, last night took kids to see transformers, and had a shot on the pinny, when i got the ball up onto the top playfield on the couch, the pinny went nuts, dispay stated 'searching for pinball" and then proceded to reset all the drop targets, flippers, kick out and lamp tested, pressed start button but to no avail, let cinema know and got my $2 back  && and saw movie, three hours later machine still flipping out, only reason for asking is this machine is on my wishlist one day #.#
sorry for the long post
regards Lenny

Have never played the game, but sounds like as the ball went to the sofa the machine did not read the switch closure(s). Machine then goes looking for the ball thinking that it is stuck somewhere. Resets all targets in case ball is trapped in one of those etc.

Will do it each time ball goes to sofa until switch closure fault is rectified

keep it on your wish list....i have found that the majority of sited pins can be pretty ordinary in gameplay and condition. They can be set up to purly take money off the local kids. Some machines i played on, the back legs were set to max so no matter what you tried you wouldn't be able to get the balls into the couch, let alone the garage!!!

I own this pin and its def a keeper, don't be put off by this.
.....something witty here

I heard LOTR !

Sounds like the problem is one of the ball trough switches.
