PBR ordering
« on: August 22, 2009, 03:29:51 PM »
I am ordering a few parts from PBR and here is how they want me to pay, how do you guys deal with them?

Whats the go, and what the best option for me?

options
1. bank draft
2. international money order (Canada...postal money orders are fine)
3. western union (if using, you must send to me as a PERSON rather than to us as a company, you should include your phone number and be careful to list our address correctly as the agent makes sure everything matches)
4. a US check, do you have a friend/associate here that can write a check on your behalf?
5. US currency, we have had good luck and this many times is the lowest transaction cost
6. Auctionchex.com -Accepts Credit Card and other forms of Payments!

not recommended but can be used
1. bank transfer...add $30.00 in fees to the invoice amount (and your bank charges you too, this is not for small transfers)...if you choose this method, write us for account and routing numbers

not acceptable
1. credit cards
2. paypal
3. foreign checks (Canada note: Canadian checks, even in US funds, are NOT acceptable...we incur a $13.00 fee to send check for collection because it does not have US bank routing codes)

Auctionchex.com? is this ok?

cheers

For my first one (and following) I just sent an IMO (#2) from my local postoffice which is a Western Union money order made out to Steve YOUNG and send registered post.

They need part numbers - now they have a section for Black Hole but if you need others let me know as I've got a parts manual.

I put a couple of orders in this year, used to make them out to Steve Young, but was advised to make the international money orders payable to The Pinball Resource in an email i received from them in February this year.Payable at the post office, exchange rate is good at the moment so a good time to order.Make sure you include a copy of your invoice as well with payment.

Yep, International Money order..

auctionchex works also but they take the money from Paypal with a fee, then write a cheque out and send by post to IPB. Auctionchex wont work if its under $100 though

Just a word of warning - some Post Office staff have zero idea on how and what an international money order is.

Might be best to go to one of the bigger PO in your area.

Money Order - Option 2. I've been ordering from PBR for 8 years using this method without a single problem.

What you need to keep in mind is that the order + postage must be LESS THAN AUS$1000. I've been close a few times  @.@

Sorry to bump an old thread - but why under $1000 Nino? Is that because of GST? (Grab, Snatch and Take)

Asking - because I am going to go close...  !!!

Don't know if you guys have banks in Australia, that have a US branch they use for international money order in US funds. For me in Canada its Scotiabank or Bank of Nova Scotia, uses a branch in Deleware for its money orders. No problem for Steve since its a US bank branch. So if you have an account that provides a bunch of service, maybe no extra fee!

GST Free under AUS$1000 (inc Shipping) - So watch the Dollar !

and if it is OVER AU$1000 value on the invoice customs will charge import duty and then 10% GST on top of that for the ENTIRE order not just the amount over $1000 - there is also a processing fee of (I think) about $35.

Far better to keep your orders under AU$1000
