PBR mainly specialise in Gottlieb EMs

Not quite - they do all years of Gottlieb right up to 1996, and have a huge inventory. Way more than is actually listed on their site. Yes, I know listing everything would be the way to go, but they are what they are. Find your part number(s), send them an email, and away you go. They might not have that much game specific stuff for non-Gottlieb games, but they have all the generic stuff, but then again Greg and Mark here are the best source for that stuff anyway.

However their postage on my last 2 orders was a little high - in fact I was somewhat surprised, not sure why, but they seem to be registering the shipments, guess they got ripped by someone saying a shipment didn't arrive, so now we are all paying extra for registering?

PBR have only a very small percentage of their inventory online. PBR sell Bally parts under license from IPB, DE, Stern, Capcom - Just provide them with a part number.

I recently bought a DE Jurassic Park motor from them - nearly HALF the price that Marco was selling it. All I had to do was supply the part number.

Won't mention the supplier, and it cost $1.52US postage for something marco would charge $20US. Luckily the supplier included the postage in th epart's price. So is it USPS or the suppliers who are trying to rip us? I always get that USPS is the problem, but I'm unsure now!!

That's a good point. I NEVER lost a package from the USA to Australia. I've also heard that Aussie Post have lost packages over the years, but I've never had that problem. I think blaming USPS for the inflated prices is poor form, and just an excuse. I remember the days when it cost US$10 for a package that today costs $40..

(Instead of starting a new topic I decided to post on this old one)

I recently received an order from Marco (Needed a couple of parts I couldn't find elsewhere)
Order total was US$243 + US$86 postage via USPS premium (As per their website).
After receiving the package I noticed the actual cost of postage was US$58 not $US83.
I emailed them about this & was told there was a US$25 handling fee for packing the order & sending it off.
I emailed back demanding a refund on the handling fee but haven't received any reply.

I understand the high postage costs these days but the $25 surcharge is crazy.
Won't be ordering from them ever again.

When I was recently in the US I contacted them about placing an order and collecting it from their booth at Pacific Pinball Expo. They advised that there would be a $100 handling fee to cover baggage costs as they fly to expos. Didn't end up going through with the order as would have been cheaper to post to me in Australia. Bought the same stuff from Bay Area and collected at the Expo at no charge.

I recently "had" to buy from Marco as they were the only mob that carried the WCS94 Soccer ball. The shipping for this order was over US$100, which is a complete rip off, but I had no choice. The package went "missing" at their end for 3 weeks. Not only do we pay too much from them, they don't track their packages once they leave the USA.

Eventually, the package arrived. It was crushed and had a hole on the bottom I could fit my hand in. The box itself was massive. The parts I ordered could have fit into a box 1/5th of the size. It was full of packing. I removed the parts, and weighed JUST the box and packing and it was 5.5 lbs. The total weight was 12 LBs - nearly HALF the weight was packing.

I sent an email complaining - no response. Marco is a "last resort" vendor for me. I cannot work out how they do business.

I can get a large flat rate box from PBR up to 20 lbs for less than US$70 inc handling and insurance.

Maybe it's all of this 'handling fee' nonsense that has put the USA in the position it is in?

If this is a common practice across industries - and I suspect it is - then that may be one reason for the countries demise?

I charge a handling fee as well - it's built into the price of the goods like any "normal" seller would do....

In some ways the profit they make from postage is a good idea to make money for their company etc, but not the best public relations campaign.  @.@

Having said that, out of the dozen or more orders I have recieved from Marco's over the last 3 years, (and some very big orders), the postage has always been exactly what the package has printed on it and I havent been charged a handling fee.  !@#  BUT, if they send u one x screw in a packet, its $30. If they send u 12 things, which make up a small box, its $33. Maybe their minimum $30 postage is designed to make sure buy you more to fill the small box so u can feel better about the postage.

Marco's shld run Australia Post, it would be running at a huge profit in no time.  %.% %.% %.% %.%

my experience with marco is postage costs arent cheap, but i was given tracking number, when i chose usps postage and it did state when it ended up in Australia.
one country that has very cheap postage is china, man they ship things for almost nothing, must be nice to have a postal service that cheap. icouldnt send stuff from the sunshine coast to brisbane as cheap as it costs for some one to send something from china to me here.

I have used Marcos twice and been charged $57 for postage both times. First time Item Arrived in 1 week and 1 day, Second time 1 week and 3 days. I was ordering Pinscore displays and other parts that I have not found elsewhere? I tried RTBB but they didn't sell the displays I needed. Luckily haven't had any trouble with incorrect /missing parts. Plus their website took an eternity to process the Paypal Payment.
