WH20 Mountain lighting question
« on: September 13, 2009, 12:00:44 PM »
Finally getting around to the 1% finishes on my WH20.

I noticed when I did the PF restore that this game didn’t have lighting in 2 of the 3 pop bumpers under the mountains  - didn’t bother me too much then and doesn’t REALLY bother me now BUT if its an easy fix I may as well do it.

See image below – the YELLOW arrow indicates THAT bumper has a working light – the 2 x PINK arrows indicate bumpers that not only don’t have lamps, the lampholder has been completely removed from both of them.

Can anyone think WHY this may have been done?
Could I simply get 2 new lamp holders and wire them back in place??

Wotto, I'm confused about what you are asking...

You say that the lamp holders have been removed, but they are clearly shown in the picture! - both the pink arrows are pointing to the black lamp sockets.

From memory they are only GI lamps in the bumpers, so if the sockets are removed, then you can just wire them back in place.

So - get some sockets and wire it up you reckon?

I have a new ( seperate issue ) Gi lighting question coming up in a new thread in just a minnie as well  !!!

you should have 2 bare gi wires stapled to the bottom of the play field
solder one wire on the lamp holder to one of them and the other wire from the socket to the other one.
gi lamp sockets are not polarized. (there is no diode on the socket) so it doesn't matter which way around you solder them. if the socket has a diode on it then get one that hasn'tgot a diode
