The 24 hour burn-in is done and the unit is in a machine that will be run for two days.

Thanks guys. Here's my personal case:

Painted it gun metal grey (metallic.) Will start moving components over tomorrow. Maybe the next one I'll paint metallic red.

Here are the minimum specs:

Computer Requirements - not included (minimum specifications):
AMD ATHLON X2 64(5000) or Intel Core2 Duo (E-6600) dual-core processor
A motherboard with a standard intergrated parallel port (REQUIRED)
2GB of system ram
16GB of Hard drive/mass storage (more for music storage)
Ultimarc Arcade VGA (required for original pinball 2000 monitor, not required for LCD)
Integrated sound card
CDROM drive for initial software load (not required after install)

If you use a LCD monitor you can use the integrated graphics. That's what I use in my system.

what O.S. do you run?
is the software available to buy on its own?

at least now you can get all those components at a decent price.
imagine the cost of a system like this 9 years ago. i don't think they even had a cpu capable of that speed back then.
i notice that you have used the AMD cpu in the picture.

i like where the small fan is mounted, sucks all the heat from the ram and cpu out.
plus the vent on the lid allows air flow past the vga card when installed.
and the fan on the power supply will suck out any heat that is trapped under the lid.

just a friendly observation.
my only concern is lack of air flow past the harddrive. (i assume the harddrive is mounted under the cd rom)
i am not trying to be a smart ass or to knock your design (please dont take any offence as i know you have worked hard on this)
just some input for you on this great design.
the hard drives in my pc get quite hot if the fan in front of them is not turned on ( i have 2 x 750 gig seagate hard drives in a raid striped configuration giving me 1.5 Terabytes).
it might pay to have an extra vent punched out under the dvd rom drive.

once again well done.

it runs under ubuntu linux (which is included with the base package - software and usb board.) I don't think the hard drive will be a big issue. The emulator really doesn't use it much past load unless you run the jukebox and even then it's not getting hit hard. There is a lot of room under the hard drive for cooling (you just cant see it.)

Stop the madness! Your professionalism is phenomenal with such details is what really makes it hard for me to look at without whipping out the credit card, buying Nucore, and later dealing with Buyer's remorse since I don't have the P2K to put it in.

I need one in the USA. I hang around here for the sake of NPC and Nucore.
