Where to buy LED's?
« on: October 21, 2009, 01:19:12 PM »
I see lots of people recommending the RTBB site, but that site is down, has been for about a week that I know of. Can anyone else recommend somewhere to get them, with quick delivery, I want to change the lights on my Getaway. Thanks for any info.

cheers

If you want quick delivery then Greg is your best bet, well if he was open lol

Other suppliers are overseas.

RTBB is definately the best place to get them locally.

Greg is at Expo in the US at the moment but when he returns his site will be back up and running.

Greg's service is A1 and has a great range of LED's.

Just wondering Marty, have you changed your Getaway over to LED's?

Hehe, I've toyed with the idea...I would love too but the problem is (like my T2) I get a bit carried away and would do all the flashers (hmmm, #89 hyperbright flashers)....Once my FH is rebuild I will do so as I've got no more room for pins then!

I forgot to add - Greg sells the LED's individually and does not have pre-packaged kits for games (as yet).  I would suggest in the mean time to visually check each and every globe that you want to change (for me it was color of insert - colour of LED)...The manuals are quite often wrong so don't go by these...

I was just going to get a whole stack of white LED's, and then enough coloured LED's to match all the colours of the inserts. That way I could chop and change as I like. I really want the greens, reds and yellows to 'pop'! But, at the same time, I want to keep them their natural colour. I saw some pics on Highend where the greens have actually taken on a blue-ish tinge. I dont really want that, its a traffic light colour, so they're supposed to be green.

Massive difference there between the green Lock inserts up top (both different colours) and the multipliers down below. They are all the same coloured inserts, obviously using different globes/LED's.

You wont get much out of a LED under yellow insert.

I've been going through leds trying to source a good product. There is a lot of different quality products out there. The price is a factor here as well.

I sourced some DIY LEDs on ebay. 105 LEDs mix of colors, 8 bucks delivered with resistors. They should provide me with hours of cheap fun  :lol
