Anyone that buys one of my games decides on the packing method after speaking with the transport company. Sometimes - Transport companies take the machine "as is" - but you pay more for that. Some on a pellet.
I usually speak to the transport company to see how THEY plan on transporting it, and work with them.
Here's the way I do it..
You will need plastic wrap, tape and cardboard. Go to a Bike store and pick out the cardboard out of their recycle bin. They are always BIG and sometimes thicker than normal.
Take the head off - wrap it in cardboard and plastic wrap and tape it FIRM
Place a large piece of cardboard over the body.
Place the head - with the backglass facing the playfield on the playfield - Use the tape to secure it to the body - then plastic wrap a few times.
Remove the legs, rear first - drop the cab to the ground. Lift it upright, then remove the front legs.
Wrap legs in bubble wrap, then in a box or plastic wrap to the top of the head.
Go NUTS with plastic wrap and tape. Add a THICK piece of cardboard to the bottom of the machine so that the trolley etc does not damage.
Tape photos and send to the buyer.
Here's a picture of my Street fighter II which went to Adelaide - I used leftover blankets, bubble wrap and tape
Another picture of the Galaxy which went to Sydney
