Where to get Playfield Glass
« on: November 25, 2009, 09:24:27 PM »
Where do you guys grab your playfield glass? Can i rock down to a local glass manafacturer and get one made up? What sort of price am i looking at? Cheers.

Oh, also, do they 'make em like they used to' these days?, you know, bulletproof like most older gear.

Whereabouts are you located?

I'm in Melbourne, generally I've gotten mine from MarkC.

I can't remember the exact price, but I'm pretty sure it was under $50.00

it is best to buy one from a pinball spare parts place.
if you dont have one near buy and you want to buy one from the local glass fellow make sure you get tempered glass and not just a normal piece of glass.
as far as price goes if you are after just one or two pieces then it would be cheaper to go to mark.c.

I'm in Wollongong, just south of Sydney.

So $50?? That's it? Brand new??

Yeah would be intertested in buying 10 new sheets of playfield glass for the right price if you find a place in the 'Gong Brad.

now there is another catch. if you buy a glass and need it transported interstate then the shipping will be about the same price as the glass if not more, then you have the insurance. ^&^

I recently sold glass for $29 a sheet, in melbourne. May arrange some more if there is enough demand.

I'd be up for a few more Dave.  The last lot were perfect.

I would take a couple of sheets for widebodies if you can get them.

Cheers Punter what a great offer, but i'm not too good with freebies. I'll contact you next week, i'll take the glass if you don't mind but i'm not going to take it for free. We'll work a deal out. If it's better than the one i have on Flash (hard to be worse), then sounds promising. I'll still get a new one or two as well if i can for a decent price.

Wollongong's such a nice place, just a bit behind in the art department a lot of the time %.%. "Pinball? What do you mean? I don't think we do that here". Or maybe "Sorry, we're just flat out right now, can't help you" %.%

Oh ain't that the truth....

Excellent place to live but as you say trying to get something done for pinball down here is tough.

Not even a place to get chrome done now  ^.^

Also Brad - when you meet Tony (Punter) and his wife Jane you wont find nicer people.

Might be time for another 'mini meet' for the Illawarra group of AP?
