Major milestone tonight - playfield is 90% done. Check out the pictures ;

NOS plastics set
New posts
New rubbers
New flipper bats
New Bumper assemblies

My apologies for the large photos - it was set incorrectly and I've tried to resize, but it didn't work too well  !@#

You should be very proud Nino.  Awesome work as always.  This has truly inspired me to get a resto done on an EM and aspire to your high standards!

The pictures do not do Ninos work justice

All the mechanicals under the playfield have been bought back to a high shine, as have been the switches

Nino shows that it is possible, with a little work, to do a game properly
though it may sem a large (immpossible) task, just take it one step at a time

Thanks for the kind words - I'm thoroughly enjoying this restore. There will be some challenges with the cabinet, but I have some plans to attend to them. Might have that done this weekend !

Playfield DID turn out BETTER than I thought - But it always helps if the parts are new or repro  ^^^

Time to attend to the cabinet, and apart from the front section, it looks to be ok. There have been some serious repairs to the front panel, and although they look to be very good repairs, they could be better.

Here's a picture of the front right hand side section ;

A solid repair, but it looks bad and a standard set of legs won't fit. So EVERYTHING will be removed - the entire front section. But before doing that, I wanted to clean the cabinet and remove the ghastly house paint on the sides.

Here is a start - the left side has been scrubbed with nifti and a paint brush. The right side has been untouched.

Huge difference !

There is the entire side cleaned

The front panel - will will need some serious time spent on it - but it will be worth it !

The owner located the plastics - in fact - there was a couple of sets. They are in superb condition.

The playfield came up nice ^^^ ^^^ Are there any plans for the apron or is it being left as is?? Still looks good though, at least it not all scratched up like some i've seen.

Sorry if i missed it in the thread somewhere, but what are the plans for the cabinet, ie will it be resprayed??
And will the front right hand corner be repaired (bolts removed/holes filled etc)??

Mitch - I started on the playfield as my thoughts were that if I can get the playfield done with minimal paint lift, then I can work harder to have the rest of the machine "match" the playfield.

I've JUST started the cabinet. Check the photos on this page - they show the first pass at cleaning and the "before" pictures of the cabinet. I will be repairing the damaged front corner. It is currently glued / clamped and I'm sourcing the supplies I will need for the repair.

At this point - The owner does not want a respray, although this may happen at a future date. I think he just wants to play it for now !

Apron - I've asked Gavin about his thoughts on repainting the Red and Green - Just waiting for his reply  #@#

Pinball Resource in the US has NOS plastics sets for $60.

I have been trying to find one of these the last few weeks, seems there are 3-4 'known' games in the US, a friend is trying to be a go between and get me one, but I'm not holding my breath.

I can be patient :)
