Classic Stern 7 digit display

I've been bashing away on the Galaxy, seeing if it's a keeper or not and man so far it's been an absolute blast to play. The thing is i'm going to roll it soon, the bonuses are just too huge, I don't know why it's like that .

Anyway, heard about people modding and using 7 digit displays. I'm going to possibly want to do this if i keep the machine. Is it easy and affordable to do? Anyone done it? Cheers.

I have changed a Galaxy to 7 digit and it is not too hard, but;

• You need to be able to burn the ROM's or know someone who can.
  You need access a crimper to make up the extra wire you need to add to the loom.
  You need 4 Bally or Stern 7 digit displays which can get expensive.

Another option is to change the settings on the dip-switches to make the game harder - 3 balls and 'conservative' setting (see the manual).

For a Bally - but there's a H/W Mod that needs to be incorporated.

OK thanks heaps for that i'll keep in touch about it if I decide to go ahead with it. I won't bother you guys too much about it right now.

I've got the machine set on the hardest settings, i'll remove the side posts as well. It's just that bonuses can go into the hundreds of thousands it's strange. Great game though i've never played anything so fast before. I on the hunt for another Stern i reckon.

It is a game that should have had a 7 Digit display option. Very fast game - A Meteor would be a good choice to have next to a Galaxy.

Yes I've been thinking about a Meteor the last couple of months, and will be my next machine (if I can find one).
