I'm not a fan of the pin, but I love the movies.

For some reason, I don't like the Bally/Williams widebodies. IJ has some excellent artwork, but the gameplay does not "flow" like their other titles. It feels like the designers tried to cram in as many features as possible, and as a result, it does not play as well as it might have if there was less on the PF.

I've seen some absolutely immaculate IJ Gold pins - sideart decals, new plastics set etc etc - and they are one of the best looking pinballs, but I don't enjoy playing the game as much as other titles. I can see why it is (or should be) in the top 5 pinballs of its era, and I know many collectors who love this machine

Price

$3800 - $4500 for your eBay / Dealer pin
$6000+ For a fully restored / redecalled machine

I'd prefer a ToM for around the same price.

I love the look and feel of IJ . I currently own one which I have just finished a full strip / clean etc. on . I loved the movies and I think that does help to whether you enjoy the pin or not . It is a title though , like many others , that can be a love or hate title . It all comes down to personal preference .
I also played this title on site a lot back in the heyday so it does have a bit of nostalgia for me . The best bet would be to find one that you can have a few games on to get a feel for whether it is for you or not . Keep in mind though that , like most pins I suppose , it needs to be tweaked to absolute 100% working to get the most out of it . Indy can be a bit tricky to get the Path of Adventure (the little mini-playfield) working properly and is a big feature of the game .

As for price I think Nino's estimates above are pretty spot on . You may find one for less than $3800 but it is more than likely going to be faded as hell and need a bit of work .

Indy is a machine i've loved to play since it first came out.

Indy ended up being the third machine I purchased. Mine was just under $4k off ebay with the usual faded stickers. It was in OK condition, one of the insert stickers is missing and the path of adventure needed a new optic (and the usual broken plastics). It still a machine I love to play - great theme & excellent use of samples from the movies. I've managed to complete the modes twice, but never finished the wizard mode - I still have difficulties with the right ramp shot.

I wouldnt call mine collectors quality, but the machine is a lot fun to play.

Definitely a game you need to play for a couple of hours before committing, as there seems to be as many people who dislike the game (me included) as there are lovers of the game. $4K is the mark for a decent game, although they will be badly faded unless re-decalled (which will command a higher price).

+1 I really enjoyed the movies, except for the last one (but thats another story, and another pinball :lol )but the pin just doesnt do anything for me.  I played it a bit and I just could not get into it, I played some more still  ((( , you need to find one to try out, but for me there are a lot of better games that are far cheaper

I agree with everyone's posts, this is a classic widebody pin that demands 10 - 20 games on it before you decideto buy it.

Mike a mate of mine in invers sold one a few years back and got $5,000NZD so they can go for good $$$ in NZ. My mate then purchased a bulk deal off a pub owner in queenstown and got 5 pins for $5,000, one of which was a Indiana Jones, deal of the centuary. ^^^

Mate an Indiana Jones pin would fit in well with your collection, go for it!!
Pinballs in my collection Elvira, Stern Grand Prix, Bally Corvette, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Judge Dredd, Black Rose and Data East Guns n Roses.

For the protection of other newbies - this is not the way to decide on a $4K investment in most games, and especially this game. Play this one a bit before deciding. For me - the best thing about Indie - that great music immediately invoking memories of those great, fun movies. The worst thing about Indie - the way that music starts to get on your nerves.  Others will like things about this game, where its particular gameplay suits, but please don't rely on opinions for this game - you know what they say about opinions.. .. (mine included!! :)
