Bit of an update....

I designed and installed my own door flasher mod as previously discussed here: http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=720.0

I also wanted to get rid of the tatty old bit of cardboard under the mini PF after Dave gave me a tip he has used a few times, Dave has used a thin piece of MDF painted black to tidy the area up.

I didn't have any thin timber lying around but did have some 1.5mm shatter proof polycarbinate (LEXAN) and thought it would be an interesting effect being clear, as it adds a little light to the dark area under the mini PF.

I was very pleased with the result, although it is hardly noticeable standing infront of the machine, but that is a good thing as you dont want to be drawn to the area.  Looks shitloads better then the old cardboard!

Here are a few pics:

Now she looks complete.........Funny how most restores of TZ will include everything but the change/upgrade of the shitty piece of protector cardboard. As KTM stated, I use MDF coated with a gloss black, but the clear looks very impressive too.

Yeah thanks for the tip mate, I didn't even consider it before I put it all back together.  Too keen to get it going I guess, as I didn't even play a game before I started stripping it down.

Jeez Matt, you keep showing me these neat ideas and you're taking up so much of my time trying to copy it. How about we cut out the middle man and you give me your TZ and I'll give you mine. Its nearly moded to your specs.

This latest mod is definitely in the pipeworks for me, thanks for the tip (again)

BTW is that CNC routered or something or a really fine job at free handing?
Still loving my Metallica Premium

I love seeing stuff like this, it looks great and I am sure it works well.
Some people complain about things not being 'original' ....BUT not ALL the original ideas were good - improvements like this need to be made in some cases and shared.

Great stuff Matt.
