my son,mitchell is 12 yrs old and is restoring a 1978 stern wild fyre.his handle is mild flame.plus a bit of help from dad and all the help and advice from auusie pinball members.

mitchell has helped me do cleopatra,genesis,waterworld,baywatch,and artwork for strikes and spares playfield,and artwork for wild fyre restoration.

his skills include,
art work reproduction,playfield,decals on targets,lamp replacing and testing using multimeter,rubber sizing and ordering/replacind,contact/mylar removal,glue removing,waxing,cleaning and polishing.rust removing,luves rustbuster,sanding and buffing,re-grainingmetal.
not affraid  to give anything a go.

Wow all those skills on Pinball restoration at 12.. Now that is impressive 

Tell him from me well done..and keep it up, fixing Pin will be a lost skill, unless we can pass these skills on to the younger generation...

forgot to mention he can solder wires rebuild knokers and pop bumpers
and yes dad is proud enough said.

I had my 2 year old helping me work on the scared stiff last night :) Gave him a big magnet and let him pull parts out of the tumbler :)

This is a photo of my youngest son when he was 6 years old.  He would spend the summer break while out of school with me at my shop stripping down machines and playfields.  This is one of my favorite photos, not only because it shows him hard at work taking apart the lock down latch but I always crack I smile at the proximity of the "danger high voltage" sign.

kids these days are different than they used to be.
They might play pinball on the computer when they are boored but if they see a pinball machine and are givin money to play them they would rather give the money back than play pinball!
I don't quite get it.
I hope stern do something BIG to get more attention for children.
Yesterday I was talking to someone about arcade machines and mentioned pinball, He had no idea what pinball was.
I asked him to guess an he thought it might have been something like marbles and u push marbles with a pin or something!
