Has anyone measured temperatures inside latest games ?

I am just curious what temperatures are reaching under the glass and inside the box where the circuit cards are.  I have a side interest in plastics, mainly preservation but also the effects on electronics.

The heat to worry about is around hot components. It can shorten the life of other parts around it.

Which components generate that kind of heat ?   Also do the lights collectively generate high temps ?

Globes do generate a bit of heat . Hence the reason why many guys , including myself , have switched over to using led's in the newer pins . Coils that are being used a fair bit during a game (flipper coils , diverter coils etc.) will also generate quite a bit of heat under the playfield .

The switch to LEDs sounds like a very good idea & I would think draws less power too.  I would guess you lose some brightness, but it may not be enough to detract from the display. 

I imagined the electro-mechanical devices would get hot with repeated use and any power supplies.
