Pinball Repairer Needed - Werribee Area

Hi there
I was hoping that someone who knows how to repair / service pins, who is also local to or services the Werribee/Hoppers Crossing area could PM me please.

I have a bottom left flipper problem on a Gottlieb Super Mario Bros Pinball. I've only had it for 3 days.  After numerous elimination tests I think its a slightly damaged left flipper coil or the switch right next to the left flipper coil (directly under the flipper under the playfield). I think I may have a faulty Gottlieb Left Hand EOS Assembly with Capacitor.

I found a small wedge shaped piece of plastic on the base of the cabinet that had broken off this. (It is on the right hand side one and am wondering if this is the problem)

I have only had this Super Mario Bros pin for 3 days (my first) and the prob occurred 2 hrs after I got it home.

I am looking to get this looked at asap (basically yesterday)

There's a couple of guys here that may be able to look at your pin - MartyJ might be able to assist. Sounds like the piece of plastic is part of the EOS assembly as you have correctly described

  to Aussie Pinball !

Guys - Would the fact the EOS assembly is missing that piece of plastic p[revent the flipper working?

Still looking for a repairer - anyone have any referrals for a commercial business that are good etc?

Quite possibly - also if the EOS switch is not working - the coil stays in high-power mode and can burn out...

Do you own a multimeter? Know roughly how to drive it?

100% correct - the flipper would become weak after a game or two. It would also become very hot.

I guess my question is - Did you buy it from a dealer or privately ? Take a quick picture of the plastic part you found and we can advise.

I've atached a number of pics opf the left side switch and coil and the right ride (right contains the small wedge plastic bit and the left side does not - I've indicated that with a red corcle)

Hello and welcome to AP - you'll find lots of info and help here.

Looks like an end of stroke problem to me.
I've put some numbers on you picture, to describe what should be happening. What should happen is when flipper plunger 1 pulls in the cam 2 swings around and hits the switch leaf 3. You correctly observe that 3 should have the little plastic cone on it. This cone then hits 4 - the outer bit of the switch  and makes a gap between 4 and contact 5.  This gap should be about two to three mm when the flipper is engaged.

if you've got the cone bit i'd try and glue it back on - superglue or the non acicidc silastic may work.

forgot to add, when the flipper is not energised 4 and 5 should be touching.

You might need to consult the manual for the exact part number - as I THINK you need the EOS part number "B-16363"

Check with the manual - if it came with the machine, and it does not hurt to replace both EOS !

I've had a look at my manual and it looks like the part number is 26439 for the EOS left side switch.  I have a repairp[erson coming over tonight to fix it (Pinball Fixers)

You should get good service from Pinball Fixers. Make sure you watch so that you can learn as much as possible.

All fixed gents - the problem was as diagnosed - the EOS.  As advised I got both sides replaced.  Excellent service and I'm very very happy!.  Thanks to all
