how to defeat Led ghosting on wpc games

Just came across this interesting page on led ghosting on williams games,seems the author created a program to alter wpc roms for led's, however australia's favorite son(the pinball factory) has asked for the program to be removed.however i'm sure a quick search on google for the program would yeild results, anyway here is the link for those interested. http://emmytech.com/arcade/led_ghost_busting/

And for those intersted vp forums is hosting all the wpc led roms for download,these roms are supposed to work in real wpc pinballs as plenty of members of virtual pinball forum own real machines as well http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?

It amazes me how many people crap their pants in fear when they get a email from someone claiming to be XYZ licence holder.
How can anyone claim that the info contained harms anyones commercial interests ?   (anyone who has a law degree, pls dont answer my question.lol)

At least google and the world wide net can hold the rest of the info some of us need from time to time.  

p.s - If anyone is interested, I actually recieved a response email from TPF re the release of Medi-Evil Madness etc. All MM remakes have been SOLD OUT/PRESOLD and the release is later this year. ( I will believe it when i see it, but I wish TPF luck, cause a MM would be nice for those who want one).

I spent most of last night searching the web & joining a few forums and i was lucky enough to have some one email me a copy of the patching software.  

I will have a play with it and see how it goes

I have patched a rom for my next gen

this is what the software wrote on the screen when i did the patch

By the way it is a dos based program. i had to open a command prompt and type crap in but the software came with a read me file explaining how to use it.

Yeah it is (logic).

The way I read it - the lamp drive logic/code is common to all WPC titles. (Where he talks about the strobe timing.)

Any WPC pin produced from 1996 onward will have the updated driver code.
Williams designers also updated the driver code for a number of popular games produced before 1996. Some examples of earlier games with updated ROMs are:
AFM rev 1.13
WH2O rev LH-6
TZ rev 9.4H

It's changing how the CPU talks to the lamp matrix - You need to compare the 2 programs he has on there (CFTBL & MB) - they have the differences he is talking about.

I haven't done this crap since high school - but it would be relatively simple to download the latest ROM for your machine (Thanks Wayneo), then patch the updated code - then burn yourself a new ROM? (Are you listening Beak?) 

Just email the guy Mike - I am sure he would help you out on the quiet?

when i get around to it i will burn the patched version of the rom and put it in my next gen.
after this is done i will up load a video to youtube with the original rom and the patch rom both, with leds installed
The led ghosting is so annoying.
