Just had a good look at Futurlec.  What a great site and great prices too!

<snip>
I can't imagine shipping from Futurlec would be any more than Digikey's $30.

Shipping from Futurelec is good, it's hidden away on their site http://www.futurlec.com.au/Delivery.jsp

+ 1 for Futurlec, ordered from there lots of time without issue.

With Futurlec they actually post from Malaysia or somewhere like that, so it does take a few extra days to get the goods delivered. But if you aren't in a hurry, definitely worth a look.

I buy my Eproms from Futurelec - great prices and the shipping is from Asia.

Ed's site has some really interesting stuff.

Thailand actually. the only problem I have with them is if they are out of stock of one of your items they hold the order BUT don't advise you. Twice now I have chased them up after two months asking about the order to be told "Solly, we no have stock of XXXX" - I tell them to delete that item from the order and it arrives a week or so later.

Just a heads up to stay on their case if goods don't show in a couple of weeks and you hear nothing from them!

Just a quick update.

The tester PCB and PIC arrived on Thursday. So of course I spent all day putting it all together.
Took about 3 hours to assemble the tester and another 5 or 6 hours putting together all the neccessary cables  ^&^ to test my Williams 11b CPU board.
This board is from a Cyclone machine which has power issues and I have already rebuilt the power supply board but still getting low 5 volts at CPU board.

Using a computer power supply and the tester to boot the CPU on the bench has allowed me to rule out further power supply issues.
Basically it's like swapping the cpu to another machine and see if the faults go with it, which they did.
Also working on the bench is certainly alot easier than working in the backbox.

The tester has a built in DVM and logic probe which are useful for tracking down faults on the board.
I found the logic probe function particularly useful, as I am learning as I go, and being able to see the various voltage and pulses was a big help to me.

Overall I'm very impressed with the tester so far.

Here are some Pics.

Really interesting product. I'll be interested to see the repair log and how useful Ed's tester was in the repair.

Thanks for posting the pics etc - Might invest in one myself.
