Santa has come early - Great stuff !

I was going to buy a CP playfield just for the artwork - really amazing.

The tumbler will quickly become your favorite garage tool and you will wonder why you didn't but one earlier ! I've nearly worn mine out.

ps, Also have two Lyman tumblers as well. As Strangeways said they are one of the most used tools in a restoration.

The Centaur playfields are a popular chrissy present.
Mine arrived last Wednesday, along with a set of plastics and a set of Wizard plastics.

Apparently it is, as walnut shell is for heavy duty cleaning, if I'm correct from what I've read. Never used one b4 #@#.
I'm sure the others will let you know what works.

I use wallnut shell in a Lyman 2500 for the initial cleaning to get rid of the worst of the grime, then parts go into another Lyman (1200) with corn cob media for finishing. I put a little bit of liquid Autosol in both tumblers as well - parts come out like new.

untreated corn cob is used for all the tumbling that I do. Walnut is for really stubborn polishing. I don't use walnut.

I've never used treated corn cob, only untreated. I use Flitz polishing media. Nothing even comes close.

Thanks for the links to the site - my usual supplier has disappeared !
